Armistead Senior Care is a local company with a local presence and a great reputation. We were founded in 1999 by Rachel Lee Cummings, while attending college in Vermont. Rachel is still involved with Armistead Senior Care as a member of our Board of Directors and she is currently Deputy Director of the Champlain Valley Agency on Aging (CVAA). This delightful surprise of a bouquet was hand delivered to the Vermont office by Collie Chambers, another exceptional Armistead Caregiver. As we thanked her and oohhed and aahhed over the beautiful bouquet, Collie told us of her latest volunteer effort: Vermont Recycles Flowers, which is a goodwill branch of Chappell’s Florist of South Burlington. Diane, co-owner of Chappell’s, had the wonderful idea of creating new, fresh flower bouquets from “recycled” flowers, that had been left over and then generously donated from events, functions, and retail stores. As we continue to shine a spotlight on our wonderful Caregivers that volunteer, I would like to introduce you to Mary Post. She is a volunteer at the Vermont Respite House in Williston, Vermont. Mary grew up in Minnesota and has a degree in political science from Concordia College.
