“4 Your Can-venience”

Posted on: 2013 05 05

Did you know that the folks at Armistead have started a company wide food drive called 4 Your Can-venience? I think it’s really cool. The goal is to raise a ton of food by the end of the year. In Vermont, the branch is dropping off sturdy, blue Armistead bags in different South Burlington neighborhoods. The idea is that you fill the bag up with non-perishable items for the Armistead team to pick up on a designated date. The food is then distributed to local non-profits that serve seniors. Several businesses have joined in on the effort, including North Star Leasing (run by Dan Feeney who also happens to be the Board Chair and part-owner at Armistead) and the YMCA. Lots of food was also donated at the recent CVAA Bowl-a-Thon which is helping Armistead reach its goal to collect and donate a ton of food! There are currently bags available for food donation at the South Burlington Municipal offices, Ride-Away in Essex Junction, VT Department of Adult Protective Services and MVP. Thank you so much to all of you for helping with this effort. If you are an individual or a business and would like to participate in the 4 Your Can-venience effort, contact Diane Way, Community Outreach, in the Vermont office.
